Professional voice training GUNTARS RUŅĢIS received at the Latvian Academy of Music (Vladimir Okuns' class, 1985 - 1990). He has participated in master-classes with Italian tenor Gianfranco Cecchele (1995 - 1996), and with prof.Irina Gavrilovici (1998 - 2000).
He is a member of the Latvian National Opera since 1990. He has toured with company in Sweden, Norway, Spain and the Netherlands.
Guntars Ruņģis is founder and artistic director of J.Zābers's Memorial Foundation. He works as vocal coach with Male Choir Frachori.
