The Latvian National Opera troupe’s colourful CENTENARY CELEBRATION concert will feature the voices of the outstanding LNO soloists as well as internationally recognised and locally beloved opera stars.
First part of the concert will be dedicated to the Latvian operas composed by Jānis Mediņš, Arvīds Žilinskis, Romualds Kalsons, Jānis Kalniņš, Jāzeps Mediņš, Zigmars Liepiņš. Solists: Inga Kalna, Inga Šļubovska-Kancēviča, Zanda Švēde, Dana Bramane, Raimonds Bramanis, Jānis Apeinis, Kalvis Kalniņš, and Krišjānis Norvelis.
On the second and third part of the concert audience will enjoy music by Richard Wagner, Gaetano Donizetti, Umberto Giordano, Jules Massenet, Francesco Chilea, Georges Bizet, Charles Gounod, Camille Saint-Saëns, Giacomo Puccini and Giuseppe Verdi. Soloists: Marina Rebeka, Inga Kalna, Liudmyla Monastyrska, Dinara Alieva, Olesya Petrova, Zanda Švēde, Egils Siliņš, Stephen Gould, Ain Anger, Murat Karahan, Rame Lahaj, Irakli Kakhidze, Samsons Izjumovs, Franco Vassallo, Vladislav Sulimsky.
The concerts are being held as part of the Born in Latvia! (Dzimuši Latvijā!) concert cycle, which is being organized to celebrate Latvia's centenary and offers local music lovers to opportunity to hear many of Latvia's best singers and musicians.
