SABĪNE STROKŠA graduated from the Riga Choreography School in 2006. In the same year, she joined the Latvian National Ballet, where she currently holds the position of Principal.
She won the 2nd place in the XVI International Grase Classical Dance Competition (2003), the 2nd place in the International Young Dancers Competition Daldansen in Sweden (2003), the 3rd place in the International Ballet Competition Junostj baleta in Ukraine (2002), she has been among the finalists of the XI Eurovision Young Dancers Competition (2005), and the I International Young Dancers Competition Fouetté in Estonia (2000).
Her roles with the Latvian National Ballet include Lise in F. Ashton’s La Fille mal gardée, Mina/Elisabeth in Pastor’s Dracula, Odétte – Odile in Swan Lake, Franziska in At the Blue Danube, Maria in The Nutcracker, Gamzatti in La Bayadère, Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, among many other. The dances has participated in the guest performances in France, Croatia, Russia, and Spain.
Sabīne Strokša is a laureate of the Latvijas Gāze annual award as a best ballet soloist of the Season 2012/2013, as well as the Latvian Dance Award 2021-2022 as the best ballet dancer.
