In collaperation with with the Hotel Pro Forma (Denmark) and Latvian Radio Choir
Follow the Warrior, the Spy and the Soldier through their transformation into a world of light and darkness, battle and death – from man to machine, to statue, ghost and fantasy heroine…. Impressive music and archaic Japanese poetry, enigmatic manga drawings, magical lights and extravagant costumes play the eternal story of the human tribe. After the world premiere at the Latvian National Opera, War Sum Up was performed at the UltimaOslo Contemporary Music Festival, the Royal Danish Theatre, the Odense Theatre and Musikhuset Aarhus. Kirsten Dehlholm, light designer Jesper Kongshaug and dramaturg Willie Flindt were awarded the Danish Reumert-prize for their work on the stage design of War Sum Up.
Amazingly impressive – powerful – purely visually, and the music sucks you in with its sometimes intimately melodic, flowing passages, sometimes ethereally chanting harmonious sounds as sheer vertical columns of sound.
