Sigvards Kļava is not only an Artistic director of the Latvian Radio Choir, but also a professor of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and a conducting teacher of the Riga Dome Choir School. He often participates at the work of the international juries and is active promoter of the amateur choirs: he has been the Chief Conductor and the author of the artistic conceptions of the several The All-Latvian Song and Dance Festivals - an important event in Latvian culture and social life with approximately 30,000 performers annually. He has been the impetus behind the several popular concert cycles and musical projects. As a quest conductor he has cooperated with Netherlands Radio Choir, RIAS Chamber Choir and many more. He has won the Latvian Music Grand Prix repeatedly, and was awarded by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia.
