Latvian mezzo-soprano IRMA PAVĀRE studied vocal arts in Latvian Academy of Music with the professor Anita Garanča. She made her debut at the Latvian National Opera as Third Dame in Die Zauberflöte in 2008. She has sung Princess de Bouillon in Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur, Fenena in Verdi's Nabucco, Mother Jeanne in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, Olga in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Schwertleite in Wagner’s Die Walküre, Clarice and Linette in Prokofiev’s The Love for Three Oranges, Maddalena in Verdi’s Rigoletto, and others. Irma Pavāre has improved her vocal mastery in masterclasses with Monserrat Caballe, Margarita Honig, Joy Mammen and Snezana Brzakovic.

The singer regularly participates in different projects and festivals, such as Sigulda Opera Music Festival, Sacred Music Festival, festival Dominante, Cēsis Art Festival and others. In collaboration with local orchestras she has performed in Germany and Italy. In addition to operas and operettas, her repertoire also includes large scale choral symphony performances and wide range of chamber music starting from the beautiful 19th Century Russian romances to contemporary music. Irma Pavāre has collaborated with such conductors as Tarmo Peltokoski, Cornelius Meister, Fabrice Bollon, Marco Feruglio, Andris Poga, Guntis Kuzma, Mikhail Tatarnikov, Zbignev Graca, Vladimir Kiradzijev and Fabio Mastrangelo, among other.

In 2022, Irma Pavāre became a laureate of the international Stignani Opera Singers’ Competition in Imola, Italy, winning 3rd place as well as a special prize.

Irma Pavāre works as the Head of the Vocal department of Riga Cathedral Choir School, teaches in the Department of Chamber Ensemble and Piano Accompaniment at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. She’s also active at the Latvian Voice Teachers Association.
