Latvian-Ukrainian soprano LAURA LOLITA PEREŠIVANA is a rising talent on the international stage. In the 2025/26 season, she returns to Teatro alla Scala to sing Clotilde in Norma and take on the title role in Anna A, a new opera by Silvia Colasanti.
Since joining the La Scala Young Artist Programme in 2023, she has made her mainstage debut in Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra, and appeared as Rosa in Il piccolo spazzacamino, Elena in Il cappello di paglia di Firenze, Modistin in Der Rosenkavalier, and covered Alice Ford in Falstaff.
As a Young Artist at the English National Opera Studio, she appeared on the stages of Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, English National Opera, and Opera North, in roles such as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Thérèse in Les mamelles de Tirésias, Fiorilla in Il turco in Italia, and Marie in both La fille du régiment and Wozzeck.
A frequent prizewinner, Laura has received 2nd Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Handel Singing Competition in London, 2nd Prize at the Vincerò Competition in Naples, the Leo Nucci Prize at the Magda Olivero Competition in Milan, 2nd Prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards, 4th Prize at the Veronica Dunne Competition in Dublin, the Prince’s Prize in London, and a Special Prize for “profound musical expression” at the Moniuszko Competition.
She began her operatic journey at age 19, covering Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi at the Latvian National Opera, and studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
