ZBIGNIEW GRACA is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw where he studied playing violin with Tadeusz Wronski and opera-symphonic conducting with Stanislaw Wislocki,. He improved his skills with Franco Ferrara in Siena (Italy) and with Rafael Kubelik in Lucerne (Switzerland).

Mr. Graca is the recipient of main prizes in several conducting competitions, among them the International Nicolai Malko Competition for Young Conductors, the Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors and the Hans Swarowsky International Conductors Competition.

In 1975-80 he collaborated with the Warsaw Radio Orchestra and thereafter -as a concertmaster and conductor - with the Aachen Symphony Orchestra in Germany. In 1985-88 Mr. Graca was a resident conductor of the Copenhagen Royal Opera and in 1989-90 the artistic director of the Polish State Opera of Wroclaw. 1989-2017 he has been a resident conductor of the Warsaw Chamber Opera where he prepared and conducted many operas by Mozart, Rossini and Donizetti and has been contributing to the annual Mozart Festival since its first edition in 1991. Since 2017 he has been a resident conductor at the Polish Royal Opera in Warsaw.

In 1992-95 Mr. Graca was permanent visiting conductor of the Opera of Poznan, where he prepared and conducted several premieres, among them Verdi's Aida, Puccini's La Bohème, Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring and Bartok's Miraculous Mandarin.

Mr. Graca has performed in almost all European countries (regularly in Scandinavia, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Lithuania and Latvia), in Japan and the United States. Since 1995 he has been invited annually to Israel and since 1998 he has been regularly performing with the President's Symphony Orchestra and in the Ankara State Opera in Turkey.

Since 1999 Mr Graca has been collaborating with the Latvian National Theatre in Riga where he conducted the premieres of the following Mozart's operas: Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro and Zauberflöte.

In Poland Mr. Graca performs with almost all philharmonic orchestras, among them of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Philharmonic in Poznan, Katowice, Lodz, Krakow

Gdansk, Szczecin, Lublin, Bydgoszcz, Opole, Rzeszow and Bialystok, the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra Katowice and the Polish Chamber Orchestra.

His works include numerous archival and CD recordings.
