Tomaž Premzl

Slovenian lighting designer TOMAŽ PREMZL has graduated the Academia in Maribor with the degree in Multimedia Production (2008). Since 1996 he is the Lighting Master and Designer at the Slovene National Theatre Maribor; he has created numerous lighting designs to many concerts and productions of contemporary and classic ballets at this theatre. He has cooperated with such choreographers as Viktor Litvinov, Marko Urbanek, Darrel Toulon, Irina Ivanova, Staša Zurovac and Valentina Turcu, among them. As part of the creative team around choreographer Edward Clug, he has worked at the world’s major dance venues, including the Vienna State Opera, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival (USA), The Stars of the White Nights Festival at the Mariinsky Theatre, the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Festival of Firsts in Pittsburgh, Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA), Biarritz Festival (France), Teatro Piccolo and Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Klaipėda State Music Theatre, Bolshoi Theater in Moscow (ballet Master and Margarita, 2021), as well as in other festivals in Brasil, Israel, Portugal, Canada, South Korea and others; toured the Netherlands, Italy, the USA and the countries of ex-Yugoslavia. Previously has cooperated with the Latvian National Opera and Ballet while working on the ballet Peer Gynt, choreographed by Edward Klug.
