The Discovering the Americas programme features duets, trios, quartets and even a quintet by North and South American composers. The programme will include pieces by world renown composers like Astor Piazzolla, Leonard Bernstein and Alberto Ginastera (whose birthday we will celebrate in 2016), as well as by contemporary composers still new to the Latvia public – Uruguayan Miguel del Águila, Cuban Paquito D’Rivera, as well as American Dan Becker and Cindy Cox – many of whose pieces will be played for the first time in Latvia.
