Juan Guillermo Nova

JUAN GUILLERMO NOVA is a graduate of the Santo Domingo School of Art where he specialized in art history and technical and artistic drawing, as well as from the Trazos School in Madrid, where he studied digital post production and 3D projection. He began his career at Teatro Real in Madrid. He has worked on the production of Faust at the Teatro Regio di Parma; Tosca, Barbiere di Siviglia and La Traviata in Arena di Verona; and La Bohème at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. In 2013, he took the post of technical director at the Municipal Theater of São Paulo. In 2013 and 2015, he was awarded prizes for the best set design in Brazil with Don Giovanni and Manon Lescaut. He has created numerous stage designs for ballet, among them, Giselle in Trieste, La Bayadere at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Le Corsaire and Don Quixote at SNG Maribor. In 2015 he was set designer and video artist for La Forza del destino at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona. In 2016 he created the sets and videos for La Campana sommersa in Cagliari and in 2017 for the New City Opera in New York. In 2018 Juan Guillermo Nova created stage design and videos for Rigoletto in Cagliari and in 2019 for the Cultural Center of Hong Kong.
