ANNA MADDALENA CINGI is a designer, artist and tinkerer with roots in Reggio Emilia (Italy). She studied set, costume and puppet design at Brera Academy of Fine Arts and at Accademia Teatro alla Scala. Since then, she has been working nomadically, collaborating with theatre and performance companies such as the Milan-based Teatro dei Gordi and the Berlin-based Fronte Vacuo, and opera designers Julian Crouch, Christof Hetzer, Marco Marelli. In 2019 she was awarded the Premio Tragos as up-and-coming set designer for Visite (Teatro del Gordi/Teatro Franco Parenti). She also designed Teatro dei Gordi’s next piece, Pandora, which premiered at the Venice Theatre Biennale 2020 and was awarded Premio Hystrio Iceberg as well as Premio ACT.
