Clara Peluffo Valentini was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and currently works in Barcelona as a Fashion and Costume Designer for cinema, musicals, theatre and advertising. In cinema and TV she has worked on films such as The Perfume, The Impossible, the mini-series Alakrana and the BBC series Doctor Who, among others. In theatre, Valentini has worked with some of the best known Spanish directors in the most importand theaters of the country. Since 2008 she has been collaborating with the costume department of the Gran Teatre del Liceu on a regular basis for the theater`s main productions such as Antonín Dvořák’s opera Rusalka, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, Giuseppe Verdi’s operas Rigoletto and La Traviata, and Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen among many others. Her recent works include being the Costume Designer on Jules Massenet’s opera Manon at the Korea National Opera, and Tony Kushner’s Angels in America at the Teatre Lliure. Clara Peluffo Valentini was the Costume Assistant to designers Christian Lacroix and Vincent Boussard on Vincenzo Bellini’s opera I Capuleti et i Montecchi at the Lithuanian National Opera Theater, and the Costume Adviser on a production of Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. Some of Valentini’s upcoming projects include Jaques Offenbach’s Les Contes d´Hoffmann for the Korea National Opera, and Giacomo Puccini’s opera Tosca for the Bucharest State Opera.
