Dmytro Kuriata

Costume Designer

The costume designer DMYTRO KURIATA graduated from the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design in 2004, specialising in Artistic Costume Design. In 2008, he was an intern at the Minerva Art Academy (Groningen, Netherlands). In the same year, Kuriata took the second place at the Ukrainian Fashion Week’s national competition for young designers, Look into the Future, in Kyiv.

In 2009, Kuriata became the Head of the Style Department and costume designer for the Ukrainian commercial television network STB. And since 2014, he has been working with the theatre Kyiv Modern-Ballet, creating costume design for ballets such as The Queen of Spades, The Little Prince, Sleeping Beauty and Viy, as well as one-act ballets Women in D Minor, Long Christmas Lunch and Up the River. Kuryata has worked as a costume designer for large-scale TV productions including the national selection of Eurovision, Ukrayina Maye Talant (Ukraine’s Got Talent) and Tantsuyut Vsi (So You Think You Can Dance). He has also worked on costumes for TV series, musicals and even a circus performance. In 2012 and 2013, he was nominated for the Ukrainian National Television Award, Teletriumph.
