Lynne Hockney trained at the Royal Ballet School. Her choreographic career has encompassed opera‚ theatre‚ film and television‚ largely in the UK and USA‚ working with directors as diverse as James Cameron‚ Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sir Peter Hall. Her work has been seen at repertory theatres throughout the UK and USA and her extensive list of film credits include The Village‚ Titanic‚ True Lies‚ Wild‚ Wild West‚ and Rocky & Bullwinkle.
In collaboration with director Stephen Lawless she’s created choreography for Manon Lescaut (The Grange Festival), Rusalka (Magdeburg)‚ Guillaume Tell (Graz)‚ Otello (Korean National Opera and Graz)‚ Katya Kabanova (Scottish Opera and Magdeburg), Lucia di Lammermoor (Oldenburg), Der Rosenkavalier (Bolshoi Theatre‚ Moscow)‚ Giulio Cesare (Erfurt)‚ La Traviata (Magdeburg) and many others.
Her other choreography includes Fiddler on the Roof, La bohème, A Little Night Music‚ Romeo et Juliette‚ Un ballo in Maschera‚ Eugene Onegin, The Life & Death of Alexander Litvinenko, Don Quichotte, Don Carlos, Billy Budd, Otello, Der Rosenkavalier, La Traviata, Tancredi‚ Iolanta‚ Francesca da Rimini, Orfeo ed Euridice, Manon Lescaut and others while working in Malmö, Grange Park Opera, Opera North, Glyndebourne, Chicago, Bolshoi Theatre (Moscow), Magdeburg, Scottish Opera, Nederlandse Opera, Theater an der Wien, Norske Opera, Opera North, Oviedo and elsewhere.
Most recent engagements as Director include A Midsummer Night's Dream (Malmo) and La Cenerentola (Erfurt); and as Revival Director, Sir Peter Hall’s Cenerentola (Glyndebourne and Berlin)‚ A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Glyndebourne) and Otello (Castleton Festival).
