Priority Ticket Sales for the Second Half of LNOB’s 2026/2027 Season Open on 17 June

Priority booking for performances and concerts in the second half of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet’s 2026/2027 Season will open on 17 June at 11.00. Any remaining tickets will go on general sale on 18 June at 11.00.

The second half of the 2026/2027 Season will feature three new productions: Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Un ballo in maschera and two world premieres, Constellation of Longing, a ballet by composer Ēriks Ešenvalds and choreographer Milana Komarova, and Rosa Alchemica, an opera by composer Krists Auznieks.

Tickets will also go on sale for a solo concert by world-renowned baritone Ludovic Tézier on 4 November. The distinguished opera singer, whom Latvian audiences had the opportunity to hear in March in performances of Aida, will return to Riga to perform with the Latvian National Opera Chorus and Orchestra. Lorenzo Passerini will conduct.

The new production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera will premiere on 25 February. This masterpiece brings together personal jealousy, mysterious forebodings and the conflict between love and duty. Directed by Marina Bianchi, with set design by Leila Fteita and costumes by Lorena Marin, the production premiered at the Teatro Regio di Parma in 2019. Its music director and conductor will be Mārtiņš Ozoliņš. The production features historic sets created by Giuseppe Carmignani for a 1913 staging of Un ballo in maschera commemorating the centenary of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth.

The world premiere of the ballet Constellation of Longing will take place on 9 April. The creative team includes composer Ēriks Ešenvalds, choreographer Milana Komarova, music director and conductor Andris Veismanis, set designer Ivars Veinbergs, costume designer Kristīne Pasternaka, video artist Roberts Rubīns and lighting designer Reinis Smiltenis.

The new work is inspired by an ancient legend, that tells of seven heavenly sisters whose secrets shone brighter than the stars themselves. When one of them reveals the secret of her forbidden feelings, irreversible changes take place in the heavens. Between love and loss, between light and disappearance, a poetic tale unfolds, telling the story of a force stronger than time, death and heaven itself.

The world premiere of Krists Auznieks’ opera Rosa Alchemica will take place on 20 May. Kārlis Vērdiņš has written the libretto, based on a story by William Butler Yeats. The creative team includes music director and conductor Aivis Greters, director Dāvis Sīmanis, set designer Monika Korpa and costume designers MAREUNROL’S. The production is supported by the Latvian National Opera Foundation.

Scarlet, the author of the treatise Rosa Alchemica, dreams of transforming into an otherworldly being to whom the depths of beauty and truth will be revealed. Her friend Carmina invites Scarlet to join the secret Order of the Alchemical Rose. It is an opportunity to explore the ancient world of the gods and learn the meaning of secret symbols, without realising that the peace of her soul may be at risk.

Public guided tours of the Latvian National Opera will also resume with the beginning of the new season. Tickets will go on sale for tours in Latvian and English taking place in August, September, October and November.

Tickets for the New Year Concert, performances of the ballet The Nutcracker and the concert Concert for Babies II will go on sale at the beginning of the new season.

Ticket sales for chamber music concerts and the Riga Opera Festival 2027 will be announced separately.

Tickets are available at the LNOB Box Office, as well as online.
