Where should I go to purchase tickets electronically?
You can view the calendar and select the performance you wish to buy tickets for:
-- On the Latvian National Opera and Ballet website www.opera.lv in the CALENDAR section. Select the performance you are interested in and click BUY TICKETS. You will then be redirected to the ticketing system biletes.opera.lv.
-- Directly in the ticketing system biletes.opera.lv by selecting the performance you are interested in and clicking BUY TICKETS.
How do I register in the ticketing system and purchase a ticket?
To register and buy tickets in the Latvian National Opera and Ballet ticketing system biletes.opera.lv:
-- Go to the LOGIN section at the top right corner of the page.
-- On the authorization page, click REGISTER.
- For security reasons, your password must include:
- at least 1 uppercase letter
- at least 1 lowercase letter
- at least 1 number
- at least 1 special character (examples provided in the system).
-- After registration, select the performance you wish to attend and choose your seats.
- Before proceeding to the cart, you may apply discounts (student, pensioner, etc.) under the seating plan.
-- Click the SHOPPING BASKET icon on top of the page.
You can pay with a gift card, or select CHECKOUT to pay with a bank card or your country’s online banking.
After choosing the payment method, click PROCEED TO PAYMENT.
-- After successful payment, your tickets will be available in the MY PURCHASES section.
Was my purchase unsuccessful?
Check the ticket STATUS in the MY PURCHASES section to confirm whether your purchase was successful.
If the purchase failed, your selected seats will be “frozen” for 20–30 minutes and unavailable to others. After this period, they will return to the system, and you can try purchasing again.
Tickets displayed in MY PURCHASES after a failed transaction are informational only — they are not reserved for you. To complete the purchase, return to biletes.opera.lv, select the performance, and buy tickets again.
Before retrying, check the following:
- You have sufficient funds in your bank account.
- Online secure payment is enabled for your card.
- You have not exceeded your weekly/monthly spending limit.
- Your card has not expired.
- You do not close the page or go back while entering card details (this cancels the payment).
- Complete the payment within 15 minutes, otherwise your order will be canceled automatically.
How can I return or exchange a ticket?
The Latvian National Opera and Ballet tickets may be returned or changed only in cases when the show has been canceled or the date has been changed.
We recommend visiting our Facebook group Operas un Baleta biļešu maiņa (Opera and Ballet Ticket Exchange), where you can offer your tickets to other interested people.
How long will tickets remain in my shopping basket?
Tickets remain in your shopping basket for 15 minutes after selection. After this time, they become inactive, and the purchase attempt will be unsuccessful.
You can attempt to purchase tickets again after 20–30 minutes. The countdown for completing your purchase is displayed at the top of the page.
How can I purchase a gift card and check its balance?
You can purchase a Gift Card and check its balance in the GIFT CARD section of the ticketing system biletes.opera.lv.
