Latvijas Radio 3 Klasika celebrates its 30th anniversary on the stage of the Latvian National Opera together with its artists-in-residence and many long-standing, outstanding creative partners.
The first part of the concert will feature Latvian and international classical repertoire performed by the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Jānis Liepiņš. The programme will also include performances by the Latvian Radio Choir, a solo appearance by pianist Reinis Zariņš, and saxophonist Aigars Raumanis. Vocal soloists will include the world-renowned mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča, soprano Annija Kristiāna Ādamsone, and bass Edgars Ošleja.
In the second part, the Latvian Radio Big Band, led by Kārlis Vanags, will perform together with the string musicians of Sinfonietta Rīga, presenting highlights from musical theatre and the finest examples of Latvian non-classical music. The programme will be further enriched by Maestro Raimonds Pauls, violinist Daniils Bulajevs, and the folk music group Bille.
The concert is directed by Aiks Karapetjans, with stage design by scenographer Mārtiņš Vilkārsis, lighting by Oskars Pauliņš, and video art by Artis Dzērve.
