To mark World Opera Day and World Ballet Day, the Latvian National Opera and Ballet invites visitors on a special guided tour offering an insight into the world of stage costumes, from the initial concept and creation process to their life in performance.

Accompanied by Head of the Costume Department Līga Kjapsņa, participants will visit the Latvian National Opera’s costume workshop and costume storage facilities, gaining access to areas that are not normally open to the public. The tour will reveal how costumes for opera and ballet productions are made, fitted to performers and prepared for performances, while also offering an insight into the work of the Costume Department both during the creation of a new production and throughout its run on stage.

Language of the tour: Latvian.

! The entrance door will be opened 10 minutes before and closed exactly at the starting time of the guided tour mentioned in your ticket. Visitors coming late won't be able to join the tour. 

A ticket must be purchased for every participant of the Guided Tour, regardless of age.
