Tansel Akzeybek

Tenor

Born in Berlin, Tansel Akzeybek studied at Dokuz Eylül Conservatory in Izmir, Turkey and made his professional debut at Izmir State Opera.

After obtaining his diploma at Musikhochschule Lübeck, he was fixed engaged at Theater Dortmund and Theater Bonn. Since 2012 he is soloist in the ensemble at Komische Oper Berlin.

His repertoire includes Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Paris in La belle Helène, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Lindoro in L’Italiana in Algeri, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Lysander in A Midsummer night ́s Dream, Tony in West Side Story, Pylades in Iphigenie en Tauride, Froh in Das Rheingold, Andres in Wozzeck, Kudrjáš in Káťa Kabanová, the title role in Fantasio by Offenbach, and tenor solos in oratorios.

As guest he sang at Semperoper Dresden, La Monnaie Brussels, Opéra National de Lyon, Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Opéra Comique in Paris, Latvian National Opera, Teatro Municipal Santiago de Chile, Shanghai Opera House, Oper Graz, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Cuvilliés Theater in Munich, in Great Britain, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, the USA and worked with Christian Thielemann, Evelino Pido, Andris Nelsons, Marek Janowski, Thomas Hengelbrock, Philippe Jordan, Hartmut Haenchen, Antonello Manacorda and Maurizio Barbacini.

In 2015 he made his debut at Salzburg Easter Festival as Beppe in I Pagliacci and as first turkish singer at Bayreuth Festival as Young Sailor and Shepherd in Tristan and Isolde.

Recent and upcoming engagements include invitations from, Semperoper Dresden, La Monnaie Brussels, Bayreuth Festival, Opera Graz, Seoul Arts Center and Latvian National Opera. At Komische Oper Berlin he will sing Paris in La belle Helène and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte.
