Svetlana Sozdateleva was born in Moscow and studied at the Moscow Conservatory and Sveshnikov Academy (graduated in 1996). She is the winner of the III Russian Competition For Young Vocalists in 1995 in Moscow (2-nd prize).
Since 1999 Ms. Sozdateleva has been a soloist of Helikon-Opera. She sang Katerina (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District) at the Radio France Festival in Montpelier (2000) and at Ravenna Festival (Italy, 2003).
In 2006 Svetlana performed as Abigaille (Nabucco) in Dijon and at the Mariinsky theatre of St. Petersburg.
In the season 2007-2008 Svetlana made her debut at La Monnaie in Bruxelles as Renata uin Prokofiev's "The Fiery Angel" (director Richard Jones, conductor Kazushi Ono) and as Lady Macbeth in Verdi's Macbeth (producer Richard Jones, conductor Vladimir Yurowski) at Glyndebourne festival in UK. Further Glyndebourne engagements include Isolde in "Tristan and Isolde" 2012 and Kostelnichka in "Jenufa".
In November 2010 she gave her first performance as Sieglinde (Die Walkure) with Russain National Orchestra under Kent Nagano in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Moscow. In June 2011 she sang Abigaille in two different productions of Nabucco - in Kazan in the Chaliapine Festival and in the Eva Marton Festival (Miskolc, Hungary).
Recent performance have included the leading soprano role in Wagner's opera "Das Liebesverbot" in a new production of "Helikon-opera", the Russian premiere of the opera.
In January 2012 Svetlana Sozdateleva took part as Fevronia in a new production by Dmitry Chernyakov of Riumsky-Korsakov's opera "The Invivible City of Kitezh" for the Netherlands National Opera in Amsterdam.
Forthcoming performances include Renata in Prokofiev's "The Fiery Angel" in a new production at the Komische Opera, Berlin and a series of perfromances with Russian National Orchestra.
MMiss Sozdateleva is an acticve recitalist and regularly gives performances of song programmes. She has recently sung recitals of Gliere, Medtner and Rachmaninov in Moscow and Gliere / Medtner programme with British pianist Jonathan Powell in London and with Liubov Orfenova in Moscow. She actively works with conductors including Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Vladimir Ponkin, Mikhail Pletnev, Vincent de Cort, Evgeny Brazhnik, Domenique Ruits, Theodore Currentzis and Kent Nagano.
