One of the most interesting Italian tenors of his generation, Stefano La Colla has performed in some among the most important Italian opera houses, including Arena di Verona, Parma Festival, Teatro Verdi di Busseto, Festival Puccini di Torre del Lago, Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, Teatro Verdi di Pisa, Teatro Valli di Reggio Emilia.
His recent engagements have included Nabucco at the Teatro Verdi in Busseto under the baton of Marcello Rota, Tosca at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, at Teatro Marrucino of Chieti and in Pisa, Aida at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Turandot at Theater Regensburg (Germany), Il trovatore (Manrico) at the Staatstheater of Dortmund and at National Theatre in Zagreb and Belgrade. He also gained a great success performing Manon Lescaut (Des Grieux) at Opernhaus in Leipzig and at Festspielhaus und Festspiele in Baden Baden under the baton of Simon Rattle, Macbeth (Macduff) in Wroclaw, Tosca (Cavaradossi) at Deutsche Oper in Berlin and at Bayerische Staatsoper of Munich with Anja Harteros.
Among his future plans are Turandot (Calaf) at Teatro alla Scala, Don Carlo (title role), Manon Lescaut (Des Grieux) and Nabucco (Ismaele) at Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Manon Lescaut and Turandot in Leipzig, Simon Boccanegra (Adorno) in Pisa, Rovigo and Livorno, Madama Butterfly at Staatsoper in Berlin, Nabucco (Ismaele) at Arena di Verona, Tosca (Cavaradossi) and Le Cid (Rodrigue) in St. Gallen, Turandot (Calaf) at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
Graduated at Conservatory “Pietro Mascagni” in Livorno, he also studied with Magda Olivero, Katia Ricciarelli, Luciana Serra and Carlo Meliciani.
