OLGA SERGEYEVA was born in Bashkiria and studied at the Gnesins´ Russian Academy of Music. In 1999, she won the I International Elena Obraztsova Competition for the Young Opera Singers. From 1998 until 2000 was a soloist at the Novaja Opera, Moscow, where her repertoire included Wally in Catalani´s La Wally, Tamara in The Demon and Fevronia in The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevronia.
In 2000, she made her debut at Moscow´s Bolshoi Theatre in March in the title role in Aida and became a member of Mariinsky Theatre Company. In 2001, she was awarded with the St.Petersburg´s highest theatre prize - the Golden Sofit for the role of Fevronia. In October 2004, she made her Metropolitan Opera debut, performing as Brünnhilde in Die Walküre alongside Plácido Domingo as Siegmund with Valery Gergiev conducting. In 2005, she performed the same role at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris conducted by Christoph Eschenbach.
In 2006, with the London Symphony Orchestra she performed Shostakovich´s 14th Symphony under Valery Gergiev and at London´s Albert Hall and in Madrid she performed Brünnhilde in concert performances of Siegfried with the Paris Symphony Orchestra under Christoph Eschenbach.
Her repertoire also includes Nastasia in The Enchantress, Lisa in The Queen of Spades, Katerina Izmailova in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Amelia in Un ballo in maschera, title roles in Aida and Turandot, Brünnhilde in Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung.
