Koit Soasepp began his singing studies in 2009 at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Professor Jaakko Ryhänen. Soasepp made his debut at the Estonian National Opera in the spring of 2010 in the role of the Prison Guard (Puccini’s Tosca). In autumn 2010 he debuted at the Finnish National Opera in the role of Gremin (Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin) with Tommi Hakala as Onegin and Soile Isokoski as Tatyana. Since 2012 he is a soloist of the Finnish National Opera.
His repertoire at the Finnish National Opera include Bonzo (Puccini’s Madama Butterfly), Talpa (Puccini’s Il tabarro), Grail Knight (Wagner’s Parsifal), Little John in Linkola’s whole family opera Robin Hood, Zuniga (Bizet’s Carmen), Pimen (Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov), Tervamies (Merikanto’s Juha), Rambaldo (Puccini’s La rondine), Sid (Puccini’s La fanciulla del west), Lavrenti (Reinvere’s Purge), etc.
