Jürgen Linn

Baritone
The German baritone JURGEN LINN studied at the Mannheim College of Music and made his debut as a singer in 1990, at the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern. Since the late 1990s Linn has made guest appearances in a number of opera theatres in Germany, France, Italy, Japan and Mexico.
 
In 2005 he debuted at the Nuremberg State Opera as Wotan in the productions of Das Rheingold and Die Walküre as well as sung the part of the Wanderer in Siegfried. He also first appeared as the Dutchman in Der Fliegende Holländer in 2005.
 
In 2007, Linn debuted as Telramund in the new production of Lohengrin at La Scala in Milano. The singer's repertory consists mostly of operas by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss: he has sung Hans Sachs in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Amfortas in Parsifal, Alberich in Das Rheingold, Gunther in Götterdämmerung, Kurwenal in Tristan und Isolde, Orest in Elektra, Jochanaan in Salome, Faninal in Der Rosenkavalier and Music Teacher in Ariadne auf Naxos. Among other parts performed by Linn are also Scarpia in Tosca, Don Pizarro in Fidelio, Dr Schön in Alban Berg's Lulu and the title role in Wozzeck by the same composer. The singer has also taken part in productions of contemporary operas and concerts with great success.
