Jevgenij Chrebtov

Baritone

Baritone Jevgenij Chrebtov graduated from the LithuanianAcademy of Music and Theatre (master degree in 2009), classes of prof. Virgilijus Noreika and prof. Giedrė Kaukaitė. Since 2011, he is a soloist at the KaunasState MusicalTheatre, where he works with vocal couch prof. Vladimiras Prudnikovas.

Jevgenij Chrebtov is a laureate of Tiit Kuusik International Lied Competition (2012, 1st prize), F.Shalyapin International Competition “Voices over Plyos” (2010, 4th prize), Z. Paulauskas Competition for Young Singers (2004, 2003, 2002), S. Baras National Singing Competition (2003).

Jevgenij Chrebtov began his career as a bass. In 2005, he made his debut at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in the B.Dvarionas opera “Dalia” in the role of Masalskis. His bass repertoire included Gremin in “Eugene Onegin”, Don Basilio in “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, Zuniga in “Carmen”, Bartolo in “Le nozze di Figaro” a. o. In 2011, he made a transition to baritone. Since then his repertoire includes the title role in “Eugene Onegin”, Escamillo in “Carmen”, Dr Falke in “Die Fledermaus”, Count Peter Homonay in “Der Zigeunerbaron“ a.o in the KaunasState MusicalTheatre,and the Lithuanian National Opera Ballet Theatre.

The title role in „Eugene Onegin“ is Jevgenij Chrebtov’s debut in the Latvian National Opera.
