Hector Sandoval

HECTOR SANDOVAL started his career in his native city Mexico, where the singer took lessons at the National Conservatory of Music, from 1987 to 1993. Sandoval travelled to Europe in 1994. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, also completed many masterclasses and took the opportunity to study his repertoire with several famous celebrities like Placido Domingo, Walter Berry, Luigi Alva, Chris Merrit, Ghena Dimitrova, and many others. Additionally he worked on his vocal technique with Francisco Araiza. Sandoval became the Singer of The Year in 2001 and 2003. He also won the international Singing competition of Kammeroper Rheinsberg, in 2001.

Singer’s engagements has taken him to all the important operas in Europe, the United States and Latin America such as the State Opera and the Volksoper in Vienna, Semperoper in Dresden, the State Opera Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Cologne Opera, Hamburg Opera, the State Opera and the Komische Oper in Berlin, the Teatro Regio di Parma, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Opéra National de Paris, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, the Washington Opera, the State Opera in Mexico. His repertoire includes roles such as Radames, Manrico, Don Carlos, Pollione, Andrea Chénier, Cavaradossi, Calaf, Pinkerton, Faust (Mefistofele), a.o.
