Gustavo Porta

GUSTAVO PORTA was born in Argentina. He studied at Conservatorio nella città di Córdoba and improved his skills at the Istituto Superiore d'Arte del Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. In 1996 he made his debut at the Teatro Colón as Monostatos in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. Since then, he has sung several roles in many theatres of Argentina including Teatro Argentino de la Plata, Teatro San Martín, and Teatro El Circulo di Rosario.
 
In 1999 he went to Italia singing in Padova, Palermo, Cremona a.o. In 2001 he made his debut in Darmstadt. He has performed also in Goteborg, Stockholm, Liceu of Barcelona, Roma, Firence, Tel Aviv, Teatro Real in Madrid, Oslo, Bergen, Prague, and Graz a.o. His repertoire includes Jose (Bizet's Carmen), Puccini's Cavaradossi (Tosca), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Rodolfo (La Bohème), Radames (Verdi's Aida), Turiddu (Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana), Pollione (Bellini's Norma) among others.
 
In 2008, Gustavo Porta made his debut as Cavaradossi in Frankfurt, was invited to sing at the Festival of Montpellier, and collaborated with the famous conductor Riccardo Chailly.
