BAIBA KOKINA graduated from the Riga Choreography High School, class of Zane Lieldidža in 2002, and became member of the LNO Ballet Company. She has participated at the International Bartolin Ballet Seminar in Denmark (2001), as well as at the festival Baltic Ballet Star in Italy (2000) and project Butterflies in Denmark (1999). In 2005, she made a guest performance in Japan.
In 2006, she became an award winner at the International Ballet Competition Arabesque - 2006 in Perm, Russia, and was awarded the Latvian Theatre Award "Best Ballet Dancer in a Supporting Role" for the performance of Myrtha in Giselle. In 2013, Baiba Kokina recieved Latvian Theatre Award as a Best Ballet Dancer of Season 2012/2013.
Her roles also include Madame de Tourvel in Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Latvian composer Arturs Maskats, Medora in Le Corsaire, Zina in Shostakovich's The Bright Stream, Marie in The Nutcracker, Woman in Stravinsky's Le Sacre Du Printemps, Sylphide in La Sylphide, Pas de trois and Odette in Swan Lake, Zarema in The Fountain of Bakhchisaray, Clara in Der Sandmann, Swanilda in Coppelia, and solo parts in parody ballet performance Les Gems and one-act ballets Tango Plus and Voyages by the Argentinean choreographer Mauricio Wainrot.
She has performed abroad with the LNO Ballet company in Italy, Japan, Germany, Russia, England, Finland, Netherlands etc.
