Alexander Schulz

Tenor

Alexander Schulz studied at the Odessa National Music Academy in 1995–2001 and at the post-graduate course in 2001–2004. In 2003 he attended the opera studio of the Deutschen Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, where he debuted with the role of Erik in Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer. In 2004–2007 he sung at the Kammeroper Dresden and in 2008 he joined the Odessa National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. His repertoire includes Tamino (Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte), Don Ramiro (Rossini’s La Cenerentola), Cavaradossi (Puccini’s Tosca), Alfredo (Verdi’s La traviata), Calaf (Puccini’sTurandot), Manrico (Verdi’s Il trovatore), Canio (Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci), etc. He has been the guest soloist in Mikhailovsky Teatre, Opera Nova Bygoszcz, National Opera of Ukraine and Landestheater Neustrelitz. In 2008 he became the laureate of B. T. Shtokolov International vocal competition (Petersburg).
