The LNO begins ticket sale for the Riga Opera festival "Viva Romantica" Gala Concert

On January 17th Latvian National Opera announces beginning of ticket sales for the Riga Opera festival 2017 "Viva Romantica" Gala Concert which will take place on June 18th at the LNO. In the concert will participate such Latvian opera singers as Marina Rebeka, Inga Kalna,  Egils Siliņš as well as excellent guest soloists Olesya Petrova, Benjamin Bernheim,  Andreas Brauer,  and others. The conductors of the concert will be Mārtiņš Ozoliņš, Jānis Liepiņš, Normunds Vaicis, Andris Veismanis. In the Gala Concert will also participate the orchestra and choir of Latvian National Opera.

In this year Riga Opera festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary. During these years the festival has become a valuable tradition which is widely praised by Latvian audience as well as foreign visitors. Each year Riga Opera festival offers to enjoy brightest productions of this and past seasons, see colourful Gala Concert as well as meet talented Latvian singers and foreign soloists. Riga Opera festival 2017 "Viva Romantica" is devoted to romantic opera which audience can discover through broad diversity of productions.

On June 8th and 17th in the opera "Faust" by Charles Gounod the character of Margaret will be portrayed by Marina Rebeka, Faust will be played by French tenor Benjamin Bernheim and German bass Andreas Bauer will perform in the role of Mephistopheles. On June 9th in Pyotr Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" an iconic character of Tatiana will be performed by Latvian opera singer Maija Kovaļevska. On June 10th and 15th in the Richard Wagner's opera "Tannhauser" will participate such soloists as Corby Welch, Liene Kinča un Martina Dike. The main parts of Georges Bizet's "Carmen" will be portrayed by Oksana Volkova and Dimitri Golovnin which will appear on June 11th and 14th.
