On May 6, opera soloist Ilona Bagele and the musicians of the Latvian National Opera will present a new concert programme “That’s Life...” with the music of the legendary German composer Kurt Weill.

 

The cabaret-style concert will feature compositions from the world-famous “The Threepenny Opera”, the unfinished musical “Huckleberry Finn”, the play “Mahagonny”, the musical “Lost in the Stars”, etc. Their arrangements were made by Andrejs Puškarevs, the noted vibrophonist and musician of the world-famous chamber orchestra “Kremerata Baltica”.

The programme will be performed by Ilona Bagele (mezzo-soprano), Andris Ābelīte (trumpet), Ilze Ozoliņa (piano), Svetlana Okuņa (violin), Inga Ozola (cello), Normunds Everts (percussions), Inita Āboliņa (accordeon) and Viktors Veļičko (contrabass). The stage director of the concert is Elita Bukovska, the author of the artistic concept is Ilze Ozoliņa, and the costume designer is Kristīne Pasternaka.

Concert will take place in the Great Hall of the Latvian National Opera with lowered iron curtain, thus creating unique acoustics for chamber music. Please take into account that seats on the sides of the balconies as well as further rows may have a restricted visibility!
