Revival Premiere of "Turandot" at the Latvian National Opera
The revival premiere of Puccini’s Turandot will take place at the Latvian National Opera on April 15.
The revival of the production is dedicated to the centennial anniversary of Edgars Vārdaunis (1910 – 1999), who created the set design and the costumes for the 1973 Turandot.
Cast includes Yulianna Bawarska (Turandot), Avgust Amonov or Carlos Moreno (Calaf), Kristīne Gailīte, Evija Martinsone (Liù),Samsons Izjumovs, Krišjānis Norvelis, Romāns Poļisadovs (Timur). The conductor of the production – Modestas Pitrenas.
Creative team of the production: stage director Jānis Zariņš, set and costume designer Edgars Vārdaunis, choreographer Juris Kaprālis, director of the revival Guntis Gailītis.
