Premiere of the Othello on October 18
Premiere of the contemporary ballet Othello will take place at the Latvian National Opera on October 18.
The new production is staged by famous Russian choreographer Alla Sigalova. Set Designer of the Othello is Andris Freibergs, Costume Designer - Kristīne Pasternaka, Light Designer - Dmitry Budkin.
The cast of the ballet includes Serges Desroches, Aleksey Avechkin (Othello), Ieva Rācene, Alise Prudāne, Iļana Puhova (Desdemona), Aleksandrs Osadčijs, Andris Pudāns (Iago), Ringolds Žigis, Arturs Skuteļskis (Rodrigo), Arturs Sokolovs, Arturs Skuteļskis (Cassio), Evelīna Godunova, Nataļja Lipska (Emilia), Sabīne Guravska, Annija Kopštāle (Bianca).

Alla Siglova – one of Russia’s brightest new faces and internationally recognised contemporary choreographers – presents her brand new, provocative ballet production. It is inspired by Shakespeare’s classic story of the Venetian Moor Othello, who kills his lover in a jealous rage.
Further performances will take place on October 19, November 15 and 17, and December 13.
