Arturs Sokolovs

Principal

Principal soloist of the Latvian National Ballet ARTURS SOKOLOVS graduated from the Riga Choreography High School and started working at the Latvian National Ballet in 2002.

In 2008, Arturs Sokolovs was nominated for the Latvian Theatre Award for the Debut of the Year. In 2009, he received the Latvian Theatre Award as the Best Ballet Artist for his roles in Coppelia and Der Sandmann. Arturs Sokolovs is a laureate of the Latvijas Gāze annual award as a best ballet soloist of the Season 2011/2012 and 204/2015.

Arturs Sokolovs has participated in the USA International Ballet Competition (Jackson, USA, 2010). He has paticipated in guest performances in Italy, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Greece, Russia, Great Britain, Japan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia.  His repertoire includes Abderakhman and Jean de Brienne in Raymonda,  Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Prince Nutcracker in The Nutcracker, Basile in Don Quihote, Solor in La Bayadere, Nurali in The Fountain of Bakhchisaray, Rothbart in Swan Lake, Franz in Coppelia, Birbanto and Slave in Le Corsaire a.o.
