Baritone NEVEN CRNIĆ had won several competitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina before even starting his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz in 2013. As a fellow of the Salzburg Festival’s Young Singers Project in 2018, the singer had the opportunity to participate in the production of the opera Salome. In 2019, he won first place and the Audience Award at the 2nd International Haydn Competition in Rohrau, Austria. In 2017 Crnič joined the Graz Opera Studio, but from 2019/202 is the artist of the Graz Opera ensemble. His repertoire includes such roles as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Figaro Le Nozze di Figaro, Marcello and Schaunard in La Boheme, Fra Melitone in La Forza del Destino, as well as Silvio in Pagliacci, Fiorello/An Officer in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, First Nazarene in Salome, Stani in Polnische Hochzeit, the bass solo in a choreographed staging of Haydn’s The Creation, Company Commander in Eugene Onegin, and Barone di Trombonok in l Viaggio a Reims. Currently the artist is preparing for a debut as Escamillo in Carmen for Oper Burg Gars and Don Fernando in Fidelio with Graz Schloßbergbühne Kasematten.
