Born in Baku, tenor AZER ZADA debuted his vocal career in 2009 as a soloist at the Azerbaijani State Opera. After moving to Italy, he enrolled in the Accademia d’Arte Lirica of Osimo, attending masterclasses with the late Magda Oliviero, Raina Kabaivanska, Renata Scotto and Renato Bruson. He is awarded numerous prices in competitions as Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino and the First Prize in Concorso Voci Verdiane. In 2014, he was admitted to the prestigious Accademia Teatro alla Scala. As a student of Accademia, he was regularly engaged at Teatro alla Scala for roles in Turandot, Rigoletto, Aida, Don Carlo, La Traviata and I Due Foscari under conductors as Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Chailly, Nello Santi and Myung-Whun Chung.
Azer Zada’s repertoire includes Macduff (Macbeth), Don José (Carmen), Rodolfo (La Bohème), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Ismaele (Nabucco), Alfredo (La Traviata), Radamès (Aida) and Pollione (Norma), among others. He has sung in many Italian theatres including Teatro La Fenice (Venice), Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Verdi (Padova), Arena di Verona, as well as in Azerbaijan State Opera, Heydar Aliyev Center, Baku State Philharmonic Hall, the Great Hall of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Bolshoi Theatre, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos (Lisbon) and Ravenna Festival. Singer has had the honor to work with such conductors as Riccardo Muti and Daniel Oren.
