Olga Pudova

Soprano

Russian Soprano Olga Pudova graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 2006 (class of Grayr Khanedanian) and has been a soloist of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers since 2001. Olga made her Mariinsky Theatre debut as the Contessa di Folleville in Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims (2006).

She has taken part in the 2012 Salzburg Young Singers Project (attending masterclasses with Thomas Hampson, Christa Ludwig, Michael Schade and Helmut Deutsch) and the Mikkeli Summer Academy Finland (attending master classes given by Vladimir Atlantov, Elena Obraztsova and Grayr Khanedanian). She has performed in concert in the Great Britain, France and Finland.

In 2014-2015 and beyond, her engagements include Königin der Nacht at the Opera de Paris and Opernhaus Zurich (new production) where she will also sing Zerbinetta (with Fabio Luisi), Gilda in Rigoletto at Latvian National Opera, Riga, Giunia in Lucia Silla at the Komische Oper as well as numerous appearances at the Mariinsky Theatre. 

Recent highlights include her house debut as Königin der Nacht in a new production of Die Zauberflöte at the Wiener Staatsoper, Königin der Nacht at Opernhaus Mannheim, Teatro Regio di Torino, Angers Nantes Opera and at the Festival d’Aix en Provence.

She has given her role debuts as Gilda in Rigoletto and Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor at Kazan Opera and Latvian National Opera, Riga, as well as her company debuts at Opera de Nice, Opera de Bordeaux, Komische Oper Berlin and at the Vlaamse Opera in Ghent and Antwerp as Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte. Furthermore, Olga has sung La Fée in Cendrillon at the Edinburgh Festival, Contessa di Foleville in Il Viaggio a Reims at Festspielhaus Baden-Baden under the baton of Valery Gergiev.

Olga has been a prize winner at many competitions includingVII International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition (St Petersburg, 2006), I International Lisitsian Competition (Vladikavkaz, 2003) and X International Competition “Competizione dell’ Opera” (Dresden, 2010). She has also received a special prize at the International Elena Obraztsova Competition “For the best performance of a French romance” (Moscow, 2006).
