Emma Vetter

Swedish soprano EMMA VETTER graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm (2005). One of the most interesting young singers, she was awarded the Royal Opera's one-off grant in memory of the court singer Birgit Nilsson in 2006. She made her debut as Adalgisa in Norma in the Swedish Royal Opera in 2005, and continued with Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana and Sieglinde in Die Walküre. In 2007, Emma Vetter sang Senta in The Flying Dutchman at NorrlandsOperan, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Confidence, and Beethoven's Leonore in concert versions in Madrid, and was also featured as a surprise artist at the choir Orphei Drängar's Caprice in Uppsala. Emma Vetter has also sung Agathe in Der Freischütz at the Folk Opera.
She is the winner of the competition Richard Wagner's Neue Stimmen in Karlsruhe, 2009. Emma Vetter's repertoire of Wagner's music includes roles such as Freia in Das Rheingold (performed with Göteborgs Symfoniker and Kent Nagano), Helwige in Die Walküre and Gutrune in Götterdämmerung (in Salzburg Easter Festival 2010).
Her repertoire also includes Desdemona in Verdi's Otello and Puccini's Tosca.
