SONORA VAICE graduated from the the Latvian Academy of Music (class of Prof.Ludmila Brauna) in 1992. From 1998 to 2000 she has studied with Prof.Katia Angeloni at the N.Piccini Conservatoire in Bari, with Iris dell`Aqua, Vera Rosza and Gerald Martin Moore in London.
Sonora Vaice has been the soloist at the Latvian National Opera (1991-1995). Since 1995, she works as a freelance artist. She has won several prizes at international singing competitions including Grand Prix of the Jānis Mediņš International Vocalists Competition in Riga (1992), Grand Prix at The Stars of the Baltic Sea competition in St.Petersburg (1992), the Latvian Great Music Award (1996, 1998). She has become semi-finalist in Placido Domingo's Operalia (1995, 1997), finalist at the Belvedere competition (1997), semi-finalist at the BBC competition Cardiff Singer of the World (1997), winner of Aldaris Annual Award in Latvia (2000).
She has performed in Austria, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Poland, France, Australia, Greece, China.
Her repertoire includes such roles as Donizetti's Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Adina (L'elisir d'amore), Puccini's Mimì (La bohème), Mozart's Vitellia (La clemenza di Tito), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Monteverdi's Poppea (L'incoronazione di Poppea), Rossini's Ninetta (La gazza ladra), Rubinstein's Tamara (The Demon), Bellini's Adalgisa (Norma), Verdi's Violetta (La traviata) and Gilda (Rigoletto), Leoncavallo's Nedda (Pagliacci), Gluck's Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice), Massenet's Manon, and Händel's Alcina among others.
