Inga Šļubovska

Soprano
INGA ŠĻUBOVSKA received a master's degree from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. She later trained in vocal masterclasses with various teachers, including Ludmila Brauna, Anita Garanča, Axel Bauni (Germany), Paolo de Napoli (Italy), and Margaret Honig (Netherlands).

Inga Šļubovska has worked as a vocal instructor at the Riga Dome Choir School, and has been a soloist at the Latvian National Opera since 2008.

Her roles include Miss Jessel in Britten's The Turn of the Screw, Barena in Janáček's Jenůfa, Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen, Adina and Giannetta in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the LNO as well as several roles at the Riga Musical Theater. As a soloist, Šļubovska has collaborated on various projects with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, and with the conductors Karel Mark Chichon and Andres Mustonen. She has taken part in the Tallinn Baroque Music Festival, the Musica Sacra festival in Lithuania, the Sigulda Opera Music Festival, and the Latvian Opera Music Celebration in Jūrmala.

Inga Šļubovska won the audience-favorite award at the International Opera Singers Master Competition in Beskov, Germany, in 2002, and 2nd Prize at the International Vocalist and Pianist Concertmaster Competition in Vilnius in 2005. She was among the finalists of the Passau Singing Competition (Germany, 2009).

Inga Šļubovska was awarded the Latvijas Gāze (the patron of the LNO) Annual Award as the Best Opera Soloist (2009).
