Ilona Bagele

ILONA BAGELE graduated from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music Vocal Department where she studied with Prof.Regīna Frinberga, and got her master degree in class of Prof.Arvīds Imants Luste in 2003.

 

She is the laureate of Jāzeps Vītols International Singing Competition (2000). She has worked as singing teacher at the Daugavpils University and as vocal coach at Daugavpils Theatre. Ilona Bagele is a singer with a vast experience in academic as well as pop and jazz music.

 

In 2003, she made her debut at the Latvian National Opera as Tamara's Nurse in Rubinstein's The Demon. Since then, she has performed such roles as Marcellina in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Mercédès in Bizet's Carmen, Tchaikovsky's Filipyevna in Eugene Onegin and Countess in The Queen of Spades, Ježibaba in Dvořák's Rusalka, Flora in Verdi's La traviata, and Grimgerde in Wagner's Die Walküre among others. She has participated in several productions of musicals and large scale works including Les Misérables and Bernstein's Mass.
